A Yoke of Oxen & the Early Settlers
Oxen played an important role in the settlement of the new world. With the help of Ross Farm Museum, we have been able to capture the life and history of the early settlers and their work with their oxen.
Yoke making, shoeing, and many other aspects of the ox teamster's way of life are depicted in their video. Plus the International Ox Pull held each year in Bridgewater, Nove Scotia, and a traditional boat launching demonstration at the Wooden Boat Festival in Mahone Bay.
